Aston Villa’s owner, Tony Xia, has today revealed that Villa have rejected a huge bid for left-back Jordan Amavi.
Don't bother reading this. I can tell we have rejected an offer of £25M for @@JordanAmavi He will grow bigger at @AVFCOfficial ! https://t.co/QahCQ1vOgA

The basis for Dr Tony’s outburst was the below story from GFFN:
“According to La Provence, Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille have submitted an offer worth around €10m in order to sign French youth international full-back Jordan Amavi.”
Personally, I’d have accepted the offer of £25 million because it’s in line with my beliefs. This is an over-valuation of Amavi (who is an amazing player, but not worth this much, right now), and Villa can do some real damage with that cash.
However, I’ve grown up watching Villa act as a feeder club for Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City. I’ve seen Villa’s best players depart at a time when Villa could have challenging for some honours. Villa have got a cornerstone of their rebuilding project in Jordan Amavi and while letting him leave now brings cash in, it’s great to see this amazing club finally hold their ground.
