Happy Boxing Day, everyone! It’s time for one of the great traditions in English sport, as we gather, stomachs full from Christmas feasts, and cheer on Aston Villa to make our holiday brighter. Today sees them facing Burton Albion in the comfortable confines of Villa Park (after all, there is no place like home for the holidays).
What can we expect from this match? Hopefully a loud crowd that cheers the claret and blue to an easy victory over the Brewers. The visitors currently sit in 21st, just two points above the drop and nine behind Aston Villa. They don’t score too many goals, but then again neither do Villa. Each has 23 on the season, but Albion have let 30 past while Villa have only allowed 21.
Regardless of what happens, it’s worth taking a moment to say thank you for reading, and thank you for stopping by on your holiday. Aston Villa may give us plenty of heartbreak (and a fair amount of joy), but getting to be a part of this wonderful fan base is nothing but fantastic.
