Jonathan Kodjia is quickly laying a claim to being the best player who wears claret and blue. He’s now got five goals for Aston Villa, with four in the last five matches and he is absolutely electric right now.
In the 58th minute, Jack Grealish got taken down in Blackburn’s box, and the penalty was quickly given (I feel like Villa have more penalties this year than all of last year). There was no one else who would have taken the shot, though, except Kodjia.
So he lined up, made his run, and absolutely buried the ball in the bottom right corner right past a diving keeper, who had even guessed right. Here, see what it looked like from the Holte End perspective of our own James Rushton.

What an absolute beauty. With that, Villa are 1-1 against Blackburn and finally seem to have a bit of momentum on their side.
