Yep, they’ve stole their assistant manager!
Colin Calderwood is set to join Aston Villa from Brighton with John Percy of The Telegraph noting that Brighton have told Calderwood to stay away from tomorrow’s match.
This will likely draw a conclusion to Steve Bruce and Steve Round’s hunt for a number two at Villa Park after meeting former Cardiff City Paul Trollope. Brighton’s Calderwood is the more exciting option for Villa, however, after being involved with the high-flying Seagulls for a couple of years.
Calderwood is of course a former Villan, having made a number of appearances for the Villans back in the year 2000. He’s also a former Bluenose as well, like Bruce. Calderwood brings years of managerial experience to Villa’s dugout, following his time at Nottingham Forest and Hibernian.
