Aston Villa vs. Birmingham City Capital One Cup 2015: Live stream, TV schedule and team news

It's finally here! We've got everything you need to follow the Second City Derby in the Capital One Cup as well as lineups and our open thread.

Bennett Berry

If you stop and think about it, this match means almost nothing. Aston Villa are in a tailspin in the Premier League and they've got fans seriously worried about yet another relegation battle. With that in mind, of what importance is a third round match in the League Cup (er, Capital One Cup)?

Well, it's as important as anything Villa have played in ages, and simply because it's against Birmingham City. The team we haven't played in more than four years and the team that we Villa fans hate more than any other. Win today and we can all forget the pain of the past few weeks for a few hours as we lord it over our local rivals. Lose today and... well, let's just not think about that, eh?

If you're not absolutely terrified of this match, I would appreciate a recommendation as to how you remain so calm. I could use that. But if you're not equally excited, I'm not sure why you're here. This is going to be thrilling, no matter what happens. Thrilling isn't always good, mind you. We've got everything you need to watch it below, but if you've got some time to kill before it starts, why not read all of our coverage of the match? We'll post lineups here once they're announced, and join us for conversation/freaking out in the comments.
