Idrissa Gueye will miss his third game running as Aston Villa hosts Birmingham City on Tuesday night. Gueye's hamstring was hurt while on international duty with Senegal following Villa's 2-2 draw with Sunderland, and while it looked as if he was nearing a return to first-team action, Tim Sherwood confirmed that Gana re-aggravated his hamstring during Friday's training.

Gana has flown back to France to receive a new opinion on his injury, and Sherwood communicated that Villa are eagerly anticipating hearing back from the Senegalese star man. While his status for Tuesday's encounter is quite clear, there remains a possibility that he will be available next Saturday for Villa's trip to Anfield. Gueye has been an integral part of Villa's midfield thus far, and his presence has been sorely missed against West Brom and Leicester.

Additionally, Adama Traore is likely to miss Tuesday's game. Since scoring on his debut versus Crystal Palace and in the League Cup against Notts County, Traore has showed incredible promise, and his explosiveness and dynamic runs have been a source of unguarded optimism from many Villa fans.

Do you think Villa will continue to struggle without Gana and Traore? Let us know!
