Well, this is it. After two weeks of waiting we finally get football back. Yes yes, international break. But I mean meaningful football that might actually be fun to watch. And what better way to get back into the swing of things than with a trip to Leicester City, the team who managed to spark a rivalry with Villa in only three matches last year. That's awfully impressive!
Speaking of impressive: Leicester City! I dislike them more than almost any other team around (and after their kind invaded our comments this week they might have moved to number one), but it's impossible to deny that their start this year has been fantastic. They sit in sixth as this is about to kick off, but a win could put them alone in second place behind only Manchester City. Granted, their wins came against Sunderland and West Ham (with draws against Spurs and Bournemouth), but a 2-2-0 record cannot be taken from them.
If you want to do a head to head, it's tough. Villa couldn't beat a woeful Sunderland and only managed a draw. In much the same way, Foxes couldn't beat Bournemouth and only got a draw. So against common opponents, each team is 1-1-0. Who's to say how today plays out?
Enmity aside, this should actually be a pretty fun match, and with injuries it's a bit worrying for Villa. But it's also one that they can definitely get something from. So let's hope they do that, eh? If you're looking for stuff to read before the match, check out our stream of everything related to today's tilt. Otherwise, join us in the comments!
