Idrissa Gana is an injury doubt ahead of the Leicester City clash on Sunday, whilst both Jack Grealish and Adama Traore will face a late fitness test.
As reported on Aston Villa's official website, Idrissa Gana is still recovering from a hamstring injury that he picked up whilst on international duty with Senegal. On the bright side, it doesn't seem to be an injury that will keep him out for a long time, but Sunday's game is an unlikely return.
Jack Grealish is also suffering from hamstring problems, though it is likely a recurrence of the injury that kept him out of the first couple of games of the season. Of the three, he appears to be the most likely to make an appearance come Sunday. As for Adama Traore, the ankle knock that he picked up against Notts County still seems to be bothering him, though his calf problems seem to have eased up.
In more positive injury news, the illness that kept Gabby Agbonlahor out of the Sunderland game has past, and he will likely be in contention to play on Sunday.
Speaking about the injuries, Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood said:
"Jack and Adama are making progress.
"Jack is closer than Adama. We're not sure if they are going to be fit at this minute. We are monitoring them day by day. We are treating the injuries.
"Adama got kicked on the calf and injured his ankle at the same time. The kick on the calf has improved, that's no problem, it's just that the ankle is still a bit of a problem.
"We will give them every opportunity to be ready for the next game.
"Idrissa picked up a hamstring injury on international duty. We're hoping he can get himself fit but it looks doubtful."
