As we first heard last night, Aly Cissokho is going to FC Porto for a season-long loan. But now Aston Villa have made the move official:

Not much to this, really. Cissokho wasn't going to have much of a chance at getting any playing time with Villa this year and Tim Sherwood needed to get rid of a few players to be able to cut the squad to 25. The arrival of Jordan Amavi and the return of Joe Bennett, who seems to be well-liked by Sherwood, plus the fact that Kieran Richardson is still around assured that Cissokho would be fourth-choice at best.
There's no word officially as to whether or not the move includes an option for Porto to buy Cissokho at the end of the season, but it's not crazy to think that we've seen the last of Aly in the claret and blue. Best of luck in Portugal!
