Aston Villa have signed another striker today, in Blackburn Rovers' Rudy Gestede.
The club have yet to confirm the signing, but pictures have surfaced on Twitter that show Gestede at Bodymoor Heath holding up the claret and blue shirt. It seems as though we are just waiting for official confirmation from the club.

As there has been no official confirmation, we don't know exactly how much this deal has cost, but it appears as though Villa have paid £6-7M for the Benin international. It's not cheap, but Gestede is coming off of a good season at Blackburn, scoring 20 times in 39 Championship games and 22 times in 44 total appearances.
Yesterday we looked at the possibility of Gestede joining the club, so it's nice to see Villa conducting their business quickly. His arrival is an interesting one, especially if Emmanuel Adebayor also signs, as is expected. All of a sudden, this leaves Villa with a lot of attacking options. On the one hand this is a good thing, but on the other it means that opportunities will be limited for the younger strikers like Callum Robinson and Jerel Sellars.
Tim Sherwood has been busy this summer, signing seven new players prior to Gestede's arrival. Although that could potentially cause problems in terms of squad harmony, signing Gestede could prove essential in that regard. Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Amavi and Jordan Ayew have all signed from France's Ligue 1, so the French born, English speaking Gestede could be vital in terms of helping his fellow new signings in acclimatising to life in Birmingham.
