We're down to the wire. A win over Southampton today means that Aston Villa are guaranteed Premier League status for next year. Thanks to the early kickoff, we may know that for certain before anyone else plays. So as tempting as it is to think that the team are pretty much safe, it would be great to see three points for the third weekend in a row.
But remember, even if Villa don't win, they can guarantee safety with a loss and a Hull loss, or with a draw and a Hull draw or loss. There are plenty of options here. And with Southampton looking to be at their worst form this season, this is as good of an opportunity as any to get the win.
