Aston Villa take on Queens Park Rangers today in what might be the season's most important match.
I can't, in all honesty, say that this is a must-win match. Villa could lose this and still avoid relegation. Heck, it's not even that implausible. But it sure feels like a must-win. Lose this and the momentum is going in the wrong direction. Lose this and we're in the drop zone headed into a match against Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Lose this and any of the happy mojo from West Brom Week is gone.
But a win? A win puts Villa five points clear of the drop. It helps to bury QPR. It gives us all good feelings heading into a match that will probably be a loss. It keeps the Tim Sherwood train moving forward.
So let's get the win. Let's not look back, at the end of the season, and ask "what might have been if we had beaten QPR?"
Let's do this.
