It's our first chance to see what Aston Villa can do under new manager Tim Sherwood, and what better way than in a match against Stoke City? If the Telegraph is to be believed, and I see no reason why they shouldn't be in this instance, we're already going to see some pretty big changes from the Paul Lambert era as neither Ashley Westwood nor Tom Cleverley are set to be selected. I really like Westwood, and Cleverley had his best match for Villa against Leicester City last weekend, but I'm going to give Sherwood some leeway here. Maybe this is a stupid choice, but until that's confirmed, let's think happy thoughts.
And that's the order of the day. Villa desperately need a win to help begin their fight from relegation. The last time the club took three points in the Premier League was more than three months ago. If there's any hope here, it comes in the fact that Villa have already beaten Stoke once this year, and that was away.
So let's see if the second half of last weekend's FA Cup win was actually an indicator of what we can expect from Sherwood. With Carles Gil healthy again, he could instantly add some potency to his attack, and I think we can look forward to exciting football. You'll find all of your watching info below, and we'll post lineups before the match. Be sure to join us in the comments during and stick around after for the recap!
