What does winning even feel like? The last time Aston Villa won it was in the League Cup. And the last time that Aston Villa played in the League Cup, they lost. To Southampton. At St. Mary's. Just like today.
Oh boy, let's not do that again.
Rémi Garde has had three matches with the club now, and after the encouraging start of a 0-0 draw against Manchester City, it was onto demoralizing losses against Everton and Watford. But we all know that, and it's in the past. Let's ignore it and be hopeful in the here and now. Southampton were TERRIBLE this week. They lost 1-6 at home to Liverpool in the League Cup. Before that they lost to Manchester City (pffft, even Villa didn't do that) and to Stoke.
So maybe Villa can capitalize on a poor run of form against the Saints. Or maybe Villa will be just what they need to turn things around.
Either way, follow along with us right here. We've got everything you need below, including a comments section that would love to have your insight!
