Aston Villa look set for FA probe after tunnel dust-up with Swansea City

Well here's a thing that's sure to become an annoying thing thanks to the fight between Micah Richards and Federico Fernandez during the Aston Villa vs. Swansea City match.

So. There was a free kick in the first half of Aston Villa's match against Swansea today. And during said free kick, Federico Fernandez and Micah Richards had a bit of incidental contact. To my eyes, it was nothing out of the norm, but Richards disagreed and pushed Fernandez rather a bit after the ball was whistled dead. Fernandez responded by jabbing his head at Richards. Richards was dumb. Fernandez head-butted (I guess) which is also dumb.

Then we got a bit of a fight and Richards got a yellow card as did Ashley Williams, the Swansea player who tried to break this all up. Could Fernandez have been given a red? Sure! But so, too, could have Richards, I suppose. Any way you look at it, it was a dumb dust-up between two hot-heads. End of story.

Except it's not. Apparently Richards and Williams continued their fighting in the tunnel at halftime and referee Neil Swarbrick will be putting it in his match report and now the FA is probably going to launch a probe into the incident. So yeah, after a loss today, there's that bit of stupidity. Chances are Richards gets himself some sort of a suspension and it's not the end of the world, but god what an annoying thing to top off that loss.

The only possible way this can end well is if the FA just go to their default and somehow fine Jose Mourinho.
