Aston Villa vs. Swansea City final score: Another day, another 1-2 loss

Aston Villa have lost again. But it's tough to stay angry for this long.

Here's your recap: Villa took an 1-0 lead on the strength of an absolutely delightful Jordan Ayew goal that came seconds after his brother Andre was denied by a brilliant Brad Guzan save. Six minutes later, Gylfi Sigurdsson leveled things on a great free kick, and then Andre Ayew scored in the 87th to assue that Swansea City would get the win.

I don't want to be too negative today, and if I go too much into depth into this match, that's what we're going to get. The first half was all-around terrible, and the second half had tons of Villa chances but little capitalization. We could have easily won this but we didn't. Want to know my thoughts, look at past recaps.

Instead, I want to just take a moment and reflect on why we're still doing this. Because despite all of the anger and frustration we are all reading this, watching this, and talking about it. And that's because no matter how bad things get, we all still love this damn team. It's probably time for him to go, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't still love Tim Sherwood a little bit. It's miserable to see him so worn down after he came to this club last season and fired us all up. He made us love football again, and he dared us to dream.

And now, he just keeps making the wrong decisions. He keeps getting in his own way. I think at some point he'll be a good manager, but his time is out at Villa. It's time to move on.

But look at what we saw today. The first half was sloppy and dumb, but it was super entertaining. I got to waste 45 minutes watching a bunch of over-eager puppies kick a ball around a pitch and get into a little shoving match. That's fun! And then, if we're objective, the second half was a blast. End to end, sloppy, and it came out wrong for Villa. But if you were neutral, that was fun. It wasn't pretty, but it was exciting!

I dunno, I'm not sure I'm making too much sense here, and I feel like I might be rambling a bit. But I'm so tired of being angry, bitter, or cynical. I'm mad right now, but for 87 minutes I enjoyed watching a game of football. That's a lot more than I can say for past weeks, so I'll take it.

We'll be along with more in-depth reviews in the next 24 hours, but for now, feel free to vent your frustration in the comments. And, as always (and forever), up the Villa.
