2015 FA Cup fourth-round draw: Aston Villa get Bournemouth

Thanks to Christian Benteke's 88th-minute winning goal, Aston Villa actually get to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup. It seems like ages since we've actually got to care about anything but the first draw in a cup, but here we are. And with 31 possible opponents (or, really, 39 because of unplayed matches and replays), Aston Villa's number-11 ball got drawn against Championship side AFC Bournemouth at Villa Park. The match will take place over the weekend of the 24th of January.

If they can get past the fourth round, it will be Villa's deepest cup run since Paul Lambert's first year, when the club got to the semifinals of the League Cup, only to fall out to League Two side Bradford city 3-4 on aggregate. Given how poorly the club have faired otherwise in the cups under Lambert, a deep run in the FA Cup would be welcome to most fans.

But there is always the additional concern that a deep cup run could take focus off of league play. We'll see what happens, though. Bournemouth currently sit first in the Championship and could be a tough opponent for Villa. For now, though, I think we'd all love to see at least one more win!
