Villa boss has a heart bigger than Birmingham

Paul Lambert has shown just how big his heart is by inviting the family of Brian Jones, who had passed away after the Sunderland match, to the team's dressing room.

The Villa fanbase may be divided on Paul Lambert's management skills, but they shouldn't be divided on the man himself. The Birmingham Mail have today reported that Paul Lambert had heard about the tragic death of Brian Jones just minutes after AVFC's game with Sunderland in December and invited the Jones family to be treated like VIP's at Villa Park ahead of the FA Cup tie with Blackpool.

Brian's daughter Emily managed to get a photo with Christian Benteke and also walked home with Ashley Westwood's shirt as well as another jersey signed by the whole team. Emily and her family were also treated to an expensive meal and a tour of Lambert's office.

In what is a testing period for the Villa manager, it's a true testament to his character that he has taken the time out of his schedule to ensure the Jones family manage to have a good time, despite the tragic circumstances.
