Watch Benteke's match-winning goal for Aston Villa in the FA Cup

After what was a relentlessly boring 88 minutes, Aston Villa finally did something worth celebrating in their 3rd-round FA Cup tie against Blackpool. Carlos Sanchez lofted in a beautiful ball to Christian Benteke who made the most of a clear-cut scoring opportunity for the first time in ages. Here's the goal:

Benteke Blackpool Goal

A gorgeous pass, wonderful control, and a quick shot. It's exactly what we'd like to see from Aston Villa in league play, and it's the type of finishing that could have made this match boring much more early for better reasons.

Benteke has always been a player who scores in spurts, so maybe this is the start of something for him. With matches coming up against a beatable Leicester City and a less-formidable-than-last-season Liverpool, Villa could use an in-form Benteke to help boost the poor attack. Given how good the defense have been lately (eight goals allowed in the last eight matches) a goal or two from Villa would probably mean three points in either match.

But for now, this goal means onto the fourth round without the bother of a replay. Thanks, Christian!
