Aston Villa were rumoured to be interested in Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair at the beginning of the month. But since then, they signed Carles Gil and the interest in Sinclair seemed to have wained. Not so, according to Nick Mashiter of the Press Association:
#avfc back in the running to sign #mcfc winger Scott Sinclair.

Nick is a pretty reliable source, and though his information could be wrong, I'm totally confident that he's not making anything up. If he's tweeting it, there is something there.
And that's good news for Villa, who could desperately use another attacking option, especially one who plays up the left wing. While Aly Cissokho has shown a willingness to attack up the left flank, his cross has been woeful. Giving him someone to link up with could be a huge improvement to the attack.
When the Sinclair rumours first appeared earlier in the month, they were as a loan, but it became quickly apparent that both City and Villa wanted a permanent move. So if anything happens, expect Sinclair to be around Villa Park beyond this season.
