Time to buy Benteke

Christian Benteke is back. Put him into your Fantasy Premier League team.

Laurence Griffiths

Yesterday, Christian Benteke played and scored a goal for the Aston Villa U21 team. Of course that doesn't mean that he is back in top goalscoring form, but at least the striker is getting closer to match fitness. Without the prolific Belgian, Villa have struggled to find the back of the net so far this season. If you are like me, your fantasy team may be struggling to score as well.

Benteke has been one of the best strikers in fantasy football when he is healthy. At his current price of £7.9, he won't get any cheaper than he is now. Even if he doesn't play against Manchester City on Saturday, he will surely start on the 18th of October against Everton. Ten goals last year despite not playing the full season was a good mark, and expect to see more two-goal performances from Benteke as well -- he had two last year.

It may be a good time to reevaluate the rest of your squad as well, and look to transfer a few players out. Some players may have fallen out of favour with the manager and aren't seeing the pitch enough. Others may have picked up injuries. If this is the case, make sure to swap these players out for ones who play more regularly.

Will you be picking up Benteke? Let us know why or why not in the comments!
