Who was Aston Villa's Man of the Match against Liverpool? Vote in our poll!

Alex Livesey

Who did you think the Man of the Match was today against Liverpool? The whole team had a pretty solid display, as most teams have a tough time playing at Anfield. Again, the defence was very solid and the whole team worked hard to defend Brad Guzan's goal, who didn't have a ton to do.

Gabby Agbonlahor scored the opening goal in the ninth minute giving the visitors the lead. In defence, Philippe Senderos was a rock, even though he missed a great chance from a set piece. He also kicked Balotelli a couple times and didn't even get a card! Aly Cissohko and Alan Hutton had decent displays out wide, and in Ron Vlaar's absence, Nathan Baker had some good blocks and didn't screw anything up!

Tom Cleverley got his first start for Villa, and alongside Fabian Delph and Ashley Westwood in midfield he was solid. He was replaced with 5 minutes to go by Carlos Sánchez.

Gabby got the goal, and Andi Weimann was decent before being subbed off for Charles N'Zogbia. Kieran Richardson was unspectacular, but had a really solid performance once again. Also, the goalpost denied Philippe Coutinho with ten minutes remaining. Darren Bent came on for Agbonlahor very late in the day and was basically just a defender.

Be sure to vote in the poll, and if you had someone who wasn't included make sure to comment who it was below!
