Yesterday we talked about the rumours that Samir Carruthers might be on his way to League One side MK Dons on a permanent deal. Today, we made note of the fact that Carruthers was conspicuously absent from the Aston Villa squad numbers list. And now, from the club itself, we have confirmation that the young winger is officially gone:

We don't know yet how much Aston Villa are getting for the sale, but given the fact that he hasn't appeared in the Premier League since the days of Alex McLeish and that he has a history of injuries, it's safe to assume that this won't be the deal that lets us purchase Christiano Ronaldo. Ah, well.
Carruthers has a lot of promise, but our own Alex Carson summed up the move very well on twitter:
Carruthers leaving is fine. He's 21 and should be at the very least on the verge of breaking into the first team which he's not. #AVFC

We wish him the best of luck with MK Dons. Hopefully he's got a long and solid career ahead of him.
