Young Villa defender going on loan

Janoi Donacien has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan until January.

Today Aston Villa have announced that 20-year-old centre back Janoi Donacien has joined League Two side Tranmere Rovers on a loan deal until January. This is excellent, because the club have a lot of depth at that position. The pairing of Ron Vlaar and Philippe Senderos looked excellent at the weekend in the win over Stoke City. Behind them, Jores Okore, Nathan Baker, and Ciaran Clark are capable, with players like Matthew Lowton also able to cover in a pinch. Donacien has been a solid player for the Young Lions so far in his career, and a loan move should see him gain some valuable experience. He didn't look likely to feature in the first team this season, and at 20, the playing time he will get in League Two should benefit him, as well as the club, down the road.
