After Ashley Westwood's stunning first-minute opener, Aston Villa largely ceded the match to Hull City. It paid off for the Tigers when they were able to convert a free kick into the equalizer (though the free kick was offside and the goal came off of Jordan Bowery, still probably deserved). Andi Weimann, who has been practically unheard from lately, decided to take it upon himself to lift Villa so much closer safety a few minutes later though.
In the 41st minute, Weimann took Villa's third header off of a corner and slotted the ball in to give Villa the 2-1 lead.
Two attempts from Nathan Baker cleared heroically, all for naught, as Weimann finished the business.
