Aston Villa centre-back Ron Vlaar has been included in the Netherlands' 30-man provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Vlaar was in the Netherlands' Euro 2012 squad, where he played in two matches in the ill-fated Dutch campaign. The Villa captain was also in the Netherlands' 2010 World Cup 30-man squad but was not included in the final 23 that went to South Africa.
Viaar joins Brad Guzan as the two Villans in the running to go to Brazil. And with Christian Benteke out, these are likely to be the only two that will go to the tournament. That is unless France want to get super weird and call up Charles N'Zogbia. Vlaar has arguably been Villa's best defender this season, which is, admittedly, not a huge accomplishment. Nevertheless, it's will be nice to see the claret and blue represented in Brazil this summer. Hopefully, Ron will make the final 23-man squad.
