Villa supporters looking to see an attacking style of play at Villa Park will surely be interested in reading the newest rumour as [football] direct news have hinted Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola will be considered for the hot seat on Trinity Road if Paul Lambert is to leave the club.

Zola-the former manager at West Ham United and Watford-is known for playing an attacking, fluid style and bringing youth players into the team during his spell at both Upton Park and Vicarage Road. Zola won the Hammers supporters over early on in his regime but left the club at the close of the 2009-10 season amidst discontent with the board and a 17th-placed finish.

More recently, Zola twice came within one match of promoting Watford to the Premier League last season-on the final day and in the promotion play-off final-before his reign turned sour, seeing him resign on 16 December after a stretch that saw the Hornets go nine without a win, including five straight home defeats.Think that sacking Lambert's for Zola's more attacking play would benefit Villa? Or would you rather see Villa go elsewhere if they're to sack Lambert? Let us know in the comments!
