Villa may be without left back for trip to Swansea

New, comment

Paul Lambert will have a largely healthy squad from which to choose for this weekend's Swansea City match, but he'll be down one defender.

The good news is that most of Paul Lambert's first-choice players who we expect to be available will be for this weekend's trip to Swansea City. Leandro Bacuna, who had a bit of a hamstring issue ahead of last weekend's match, suffered no ill effects from playing and is ready to go. So, too, is Nicklas Helenius. Given 1) the lack of potency in Villa's attack and 2) the need for a target for Marc Albrighton's excellent crossing lately, it wouldn't be shocking to see Helenius at least make the bench and possibly get a start.

Lambert will have to make due, however, without the services of Joe Bennett, who hurt his ankle in training this week. Ryan Bertrand would have been expected to get the start anyways, but the absence of cover at the position may mean a surprise appearance from Antonio Luna on Villa's bench again.

Jack will have a full tactics post up tomorrow, but given what we know about Villa's injury situation, who would you choose as your starting XI? Let us know in the comments!
