So far, Carlos Sánchez has made just two starts and three substitute appearances. After joining Aston Villa from Elche for £4.7 million, many people (myself included) figured Sánchez would be a regular in Villa's midfield.
He has been kept out of the lineup for a couple reasons. First, the form of Ashley Westwood has been great. Additionally, it can take time for players to adjust to the pace of the Premier League. Now, in an interview with the Birmingham Mail, manager Paul Lambert claims the Colombian is ready to play.
With Fabian Delph out for a couple of months, it will be important for Sánchez to step up. Along with Westwood, Tom Cleverley has been impressive in midfield so far this season.
