Fantasy focus: drop your injured players!

If you have injured players, they are limiting your potential. Drop them!

Ian Walton

Fantasy Premier League isn't easy. When you are picking players, you need to worry about things like if the players will start, in addition to if they will get injured.

Defenders is the area that my team has struggled in this season, so let's focus on it again this week.

Recently, usual fantasy stud and Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar has been out with injury. I began the year with some bad backline choices. Moral of the story, don't have Newcastle defenders. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (now at Roma), and Phil Dummett, still at Newcastle but ew, Newcastle, were cheap and I thought they had a lot of potential. Obviously the former is gone and while the latter is still with the Toon, he is struggling with injury. Maya Yoshida of Southampton is injured as well, but I figured he was a decently safe choice.

Back to Villa, Philippe Senderos was a decent price, costing £4.5. He has given a return of 21 points, tied for most by a Villa defender, with Alan Hutton and Aly Cissokho, who are both available for £4.5 or less.

It's cliche and I've mentioned it before, but if your players aren't on the pitch, they can't score. Don't burn your wildcard if you haven't yet, but try to make a couple transfers in order to get maximum points.

PS: Christian Benteke is back and should start against Everton this Saturday. Put him in your team.

Who have your best players been this season? Let others know in the comments! (Or don't!)
