VOTE: Did the Liverpool match change your perception of Villa?

New, comments

Let us know if the Liverpool match changed the way you thought about Aston Villa.

Michael Regan

Aston Villa entered the match against Liverpool Saturday with only one win in their last eight matches. Understandably, fans were feeling rather down on the club in general. There were few goals, there was almost no possession, and the team seemed to lack some of the fire that we would all like to see. The exception was the second half against Arsenal on the Monday before the trip to Anfield. Christian Benteke scored and Villa actually played some competent football.

And then the club came out firing. Paul Lambert had planned to take advantage of Liverpool's tactics perfectly, and thanks to immense efforts from Benteke, Gabby Agbonlahor, and Andi Weimann, Villa raced out to an 0-2 lead. A poor defensive showing and a controversial call, however, put an end to Villa's hopes of three points, as they had to settle for the 2-2 draw.

Nevertheless, most people seem to be in agreement that it was Villa's best showing of the year. The question at hand today, though, is does the 90 minutes at Anfield change what you thought about Villa at all? Vote in the poll below, and feel free to elaborate in the comments. We'll probably talk about this on tomorrow's Holtecast, and it would be great to have an idea how other fans felt.
