Norwich City vs. Aston Villa, open match thread and lineups

Norwich City welcomes Aston Villa to Carrow Road, with the visiting side hoping to turn their young season back towards the positive.

Aston Villa heads to Carrow Road to face a talented Norwich City side. The Canaries haven't quite yet looked to be a finished product, but the quality is there; if they're anywhere close to their best, they could be quite the handful. New recruit Gary Hooper will be available for Norwich City, while young Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be a player on which Villa's shaky back line would do well to keep an eye on.

The home side's defense has looked vulnerable this season, and if Villa can be just a bit sharper in the final third than they were against Liverpool and Newcastle it will be tough for the Canaries to keep them off the board. These two sides have played some fairly entertaining matches over the past few years, and there's little reason to think that this one will be any different. With three straight losses and a tricky League Cup date with Spurs ahead on Tuesday, Villa could really do with a result to keep the slide from turning into something more damaging; here's to hoping they can manage one. The lineups are here, and you can join in the discussion below!
