Aston Villa have come to an agreement with League One side Shrewsbury Town that will send youth striker Graham Burke there on a loan that will last until January. Burke is one of Villa's most promising prospects, and the loan is an opportunity for him to get regular first-team time in competitive league football. The move is structured such that Burke can play with Shrewsbury Town, but will also have opportunities to continue playing with Villa's Development Squad. I certainly hope he doesn't get too tired!

You may recall that last season Burke was possibly Aston Villa's best player in the NextGen Series. In fact, Burke was the joint top scorer for the entire tournament, with seven goals, including both in the team's 2-0 defeat of Chelsea in the final. It's pretty clear that Burke has gotten as much as can be expected out of the Aston Villa youth system, so the move makes a lot of sense. Interestingly, at Shrewsbury Town Burke will be playing for Graham Turner, who manged Aston Villa from 1984-86.
