We found out earlier that Aston Villa would be subsidizing away travel for fans this season, but we didn't have details of how the program would work at that point. Well, now the club has announced exactly how they plan to use the £200,000 they set aside for the purpose. Fans will have the chance to take advantage of free coach fare to ten away matches this season. The first that will be included in the package is the October 5 match at Hull City at the KC Stadium.
The club has yet to announce what the other nine matches will be, and plans to do so on a match-by-match basis. No word yet on how fans will claim the free coach tickets, but that information will presumably be distributed on the team's Official Site.
This is a great initiative by the Premier League, and a nice way for Aston Villa to use the money set aside for this. Hopefully we'll be hearing even more of the loud Villa chanting we've come to expect at away matches.
