You might expect, given the rigorous schedule that Aston Villa have played thus far, the club to send out as many well-rested players as they can for their Capital One League Cup second round match against Rotherham United. But with no match this weekend, and the international break after that, it seems that Paul Lambert is choosing to send out a nearly first-team quality squad to dispose of The Millers with haste. There are only three changes from the lineup we saw on Saturday, as Jed Steer, Karim El Ahmadi, Joe Bennett replace Brad Guzan, Matthew Lowton, and Antonio Luna respectively. Lowton and Guzan will be on the bench however.
Villa are looking to begin a trip to Wembley with today's match, and while Rotherham is pretty good for a League One side, the home team is clearly favored today. Coverage today is - I believe - exclusively via AVTV, where the dulcet tones of Jack Woodward will take us through this affair. If you didn't get a chance to, yet, make sure to check out Aaron's match preview. And join us in the comments below, we'll be keeping you as up-to-speed as is possible!
