Yacouba Sylla out for Arsenal match

Aston Villa midfielder Yacouba Sylla has been ruled out of Saturday's match at Arsenal with a twisted ankle.

And that's one down for Aston Villa's first match of the 2013 - 2014 Premier League season: Yacouba Sylla will miss the visit to Arsenal as he has a twisted ankle. Not a lot out there on this injury yet -- just a tweet from Mat Kendrick thus far.

Losing Sylla won't be the end of the world, but it's also not the best news to have received just a couple days before kickoff. While Sylla only made seven starts and four substitute appearances after coming to Villa last January, it's been looking like he might get more time this season. Sylla's got a bit more of that grit and willingness to get stuck in that English supporters seem to love so much, and would have been a good one to put out there against the Gunners.

But remember, our regulars from last season, Ashley Westwood and Fabian Delph, are both fit -- so let's not freak out too much, shall we? At least not until the first whistle blows.
