When Jores Okore limped out of Aston Villa's first pre-season match against SV Rodinghausen, it seemed the decision to take him out of the match was pretty much precautionary. But apparently Paul Lambert wants to take no chances with his new signings, and the club will be monitoring Okore's hamstring closely. No word yet on whether he's headed to England, but it seems he's likely to miss at least the next match.
Replacing him will be youngster Josh Webb, one of the Villa reserve players. The defender can play both at right back and center back, although it seems right back is his more natural position. He played for Villa in the NextGen tournament as well as for the England U17s in the Algarve Tournament. And if anyone else out there who is actually able to watch reserve matches knows anything more about this kid, please, feel free to add to this in the comments.
