Putting Belhanda to bed

Younes Belhanda has signed with Dynamo Kiev, the Ukrainian club announced on Sunday. This should put to rest any rumors of him appearing in an Aston Villa kit at any point in the near future.

Despite the fact that we learned last week that it was highly unlikely that Younes Belhanda would end up an Aston Villa player, the Twitter chatter this weekend was all about the Moroccan midfielder. Those claiming to be in the know were still insisting Belhanda was on his way to Birmingham. Those with any sense whatsoever were attempting to engage with the crazies, reminding them that those rumors had already been put to bed.

But now, the final word is in. Younes Belhanda has signed with Dynamo Kiev, with the Ukrainian side presenting him at halftime during a friendly with Zenit St Petersburg. Dynamo also snatched up Jeremain Lens and Dieumerci Mbokani.

So, Villans, can we please put this rumor to rest now? At least until the opening of the next transfer window. At that point, I'm sure we'll hear that Belhanda is unhappy in Kiev and has his heart set on a transfer to Villa. But until that time, let's move on to new and more exciting fantasies, shall we?
