Manchester United vs. Aston Villa, lineups and open match thread

Aston Villa could take a huge step towards safety this evening, but they’ll have to shock Manchester United at Old Trafford in order to do so.

Aside from Wigan's loss at West Ham and, to a lesser extent, Newcastle's draw against West Brom, this was not a good weekend of results for Aston Villa. The boys could make that sting far less with a result this evening; a win would bring Villa level on points with Sunderland, Stoke and Newcastle, and even a draw would keep them ahead of Wigan on a points-per-match basis. Of course, they're playing Manchester United, so either one of those will be far easier said than done.
