Aston Villa v Bradford, League Cup Semi-final: Lineups and open thread

Paul Lambert has chosen to favor a more possession-oriented starting XI, even though his side are desperate for at least two goals against League Two Bradford City. Will it work?

Well...here's a lineup. It doesn't seem to be inspiring much confidence amongst Villa supporters. Personally, I'd have started Andi and Bent alongside Gabby and Benteke and screwed any "holding midfield." Why not just throw out everything you've got?

And so help me Paul Lambert if we're not winning and you use like for like subs ... I will die and then come back to haunt you for the rest of your born days.

Aston Villa Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Shay Given; Ron Vlaar [c], Ciaran Clark, Joe Bennett, Matthew Lowton; Stephen Ireland, Fabian Delph; Charles N'Zogbia, Gabby Agbonlahor, Barry Bannan; Christian Benteke.

Villa substitutes (from): Brad Guzan, Darren Bent, Eric Lichaj, Brett Holman, Andreas Weimann, Enda Stevens, Samir Carruthers.

Bradford City Starting XI (take a guess; I've no clue): Matt Duke, McHugh, Stephen Darby, Rory McArdle, Curtis Good, Will Atkinson, Nathan Doyle, Zavon Hines, Gary Jones [c], Nahki Wells, James Hanson.

Bradford substitutes (from): Jon McLaughlin, Ricky Ravenhill, Kyel Reid, Garry Thompson, Alan Connell, Michael Nelson, Blair Turgott.
