Rumours are flying thick and fast that new Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke needs to lace up his boots and be prepared to start for his country on Friday. Belgium play Wales in their first 2014 World Cup qualifier, and they're going to want to impress in what could be a potentially tight Group A.
But young Romelu Lukaku, who's been impressing thus far with West Bromwich Albion this season, picked up an ankle injury a couple weeks back, and it seems he may have to miss Belgium's first match. So, then, who will the side play up front?
Most seem to think that Benteke will be picked to replace Lukaku. But if you take a look at the players that have started in the last few friendlies for Belgium, there seems to be no order whatsoever. Yes, Benteke has started, but so have a host of others. We'll go into all that in depth in our Belgium preview (stay tuned!) but to assume that our new Villan is a lock when he hasn't played a match in over two weeks is a bit absurd.
