The Week That Was

• Robbie Keane gave Aaron (and all other Seattle Sounders) fans heartburn.
• Stephen Ireland has expressed the desire to rejoin the Ireland national team. If he does so, it would be the first time back since he lied about the death of both of his grandmothers to skip a World Cup qualifier.
• Stiliyan Petrov may still eventually play for Aston Villa again, but he's also being talked about as a potential youth coach. I just can't wait until we see him back in some regular capacity with the club.
• Christian Benteke scored another goal, this time for Belgium in their match against Romania...
• ...which prompted us to discuss what should become of Darren Bent.
• Benteke also apparently said he would love to eventually play for Arsenal. Andrew channelled Miles Davis and replied, "So what?"

• Once again, I did not get to see the match. My joke over the weekend has been that I was busy taking a 5-hour exam in which I typed 30 pages and somehow I feel that I did better than anyone who had to watch the match.
• Usually, when I miss a match, I try and at least watch an extended highlights package. It's not happening this week, sorry. I don't hate myself that much. Let's all just forget this happened and move on to this weekend's victory over Arsenal, okay?

Looking Ahead

• We get Arsenal at Villa Park this weekend. Of the three hell matches, it's probably the easiest (relative!) and most winnable. Villa really would do well to get a point here.
• After that things get a bit easier, and we will likely see Villa snag a few more points. Reading, Queens Park Rangers, and Stoke City all in a row. Could be worse. Could be November.
