The Week That Was

  • Aston Villa hired Simone Farina, the whistleblower in an Italian cheating scandal, to be a community coach.
  • Paul Lambert reminded us that, yes, Christian Benteke is young and that, yes, he is really really talented. Nevertheless, it's a bit disconcerting to see a manager saying that he is "uneasy" about the price he paid for his signature signing.
  • Watching Aston Villa is a better value than watching some League Two clubs! And yes, that even counts the part where you watch Villa play.

  • Paul Lambert gets the first chance to face off against his former club this week, as Norwich City travel to Villa Park.
  • It's not must-win time yet, but Lambert desperately needs a win to give himself some breathing room with numerous fans.
Stick around, we'll have posts up all week as the team get prepared for their return to Villa Park.
