England's Starting XI Against Wales Is A Punch In The Gut

I know, I know. I should probably move on. All four of those midfielders were ready to leave and Aston Villa made a whole lot of money by selling them on. Cahill was never even really an important member of Villa's squad. Milner and Young were both great servants of the club and left in an admirable fashion, and as much as I don't care for Ashley Young I'm thrilled with the success he's having with United. As someone who adores James Milner, I'm happy he's getting a chance to play Champions League football and for his regular place in the England squad. My feelings toward Barry and Downing are slightly less positive, but whatever. It's a business. I'm over it.

And it's not sour grapes. At least I hope it's not. It's more just...ugh. I can't really put it into words. I can imagine most Villa fans know what I mean. It's not healthy to dwell on it, I know.

But still. Maaaaaan.
