McLeish Wants Fire, Managerial Drama, and Carling Cup Recaps - AVFC Roundup

It'd be great if you could make this translate on the field. Thanks.
It'd be great if you could make this translate on the field. Thanks.

There really isn't much news out there today, but I've tried to round up the freshest links available in the hopes of giving you something to read this morning. Onwards!

  • In case you missed Aaron's recap of yesterday's 0-2 loss to Bolton in the Carling Cup, you can find it here. If you'd like to see the Bolton side of things, that will be here. Be nice to them, even though they were horrible guests and came through Villa Park and rudely stole a win from us.
  • Alex McLeish is now calling on the team to respond with some verve after the defeat. Hopefully they will listen to him, but for the first time I found myself thinking "perhaps if you didn't have them bunker down you'd see some passion." But hey, who am I to judge the reigning holder of the Carling Cup?
  • Finally, this isn't strictly about us, but Ted at The Short Fuse has a fantastic piece about the need to calm down and take a breath or two. Is Alex McLeish as good as Arsène Wenger? No. But that said, we've still got a lot of season to play. Grumbling at this point is ok (Hell, it's justified), but don't get too far ahead of yourself.
