Pretty interesting lineup for Villa; a close to first-choice selection (at least until N'Zogbia is ready for a go) from the midfield forward but a very green, experimental back line:
Aston Villa XI:
Guzan; Herd, Beye, Clark, Lowry; Makoun, Delph; Albrighton, Ireland, Bannan; Bent.
Derby XI:
Fielding; Brayford, Shackell, Tyson, Maguire; Bailey, B Davies, Cywka, Hendrick; O'Brien, Kilbane.
Looks like Villa is in a 4-2-3-1 again, an approach of which I am a fan. I don't know for sure that Derby are playing a 4-4-2, but it seems like a reasonable assumption and really, who cares. (No offense, Rams supporters.)
No word on Villa's bench, but apparently the available subs are "all of them" so I'd expect significant changes throughout the evening. It wouldn't surprise me if we see things flipped in the second with reserve players in midfield and up top and the first choice back line taking over.
(Subs: Marshall, Williams, Johnson, Gardner, Carruthers, Hogg, Delfouneso. Looks like we're in for a very reserve-y second half.)
Also nice to see Brad Guzan back between the sticks for Villa. It would be nice if he hung around to back up Given, at least until December rolls around.
