Yeah, Yeah, Charles N'Zogbia Official, Tell Us Something New

This morning, all we had were unconfirmed murmurings about Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic agreeing to a deal for Charles N'Zogbia. We were waiting on Latic approval, and whenever Dave Whelan's involved I tend to get a little twitchy (I still want you, Roberto Martinez). But it's been announced that the two clubs have agreed on a fee for Zogs -- this is, by the way, his official nickname bestowed by yours truly -- thought to be about £9.5m. Which means that Villa haggled Wigan down half a million! Whoo-hoo!

In seriousness, that's a more than fair price for N'Zogbia. Considering we played Emile Heskey at left wing after "winger" Gabriel Agbonlahor breathed funny and got ruled out of the lineup against Walsall, Villa were in absolute desperate need of another wide player. Zogs will be a more than adequate replacement for Stewart Downing. Plus, who doesn't want a player with an apostrophe?

(I'm waiting for an umlat, however)

Actually, let me add to this: Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm happy this is done (mostly), I'm glad Villa got their man, and I'm excited to see how N'Zogbia performs in claret and blue.
