Every time AVFC play Wolves I think that what we're really doing is playing some sort of weird video game, or perhaps the persons sporting that badge are all some sort of superheroes. It's a slight problem.

Despite reports that Stephen Warnock was seen stepping off the Villa bus, it appears that his captaining of the reserves squad was not sufficient to give him a place in the starting lineup -- even on a day when Villa have like two healthy defenders. Instead we have Chris Herd and Carlos Cuellar playing at center back, with Kyle Walker and Nathan backer at fullback. That's an average age of 22 1/4 years in defense, with King Carlos totally skewing it at 29. The more you know!

Speaking of knowledge, here's your match preview. And here's Aaron's three at the back idea, which clearly was way too creative for Gerard Houllier.

Aston Villa Starting XI: Friedel; Walker, Cuellar, Herd, Baker; Albrighton, Makoun, Reo-Coker, Downing; A Young, Bent.
