Fabio Capello has named the England squad for the friendly against Denmark on Wednesday, and Aston Villa are proud to have not two, not three, but five players donning the Three Lions kit. It's not really surprising that Ashley Young has been called in, as Capello seems to have finally come around on the winger/forward/whatever he is. Stewart Downing, who missed the call for England's last match against Bulgaria, is on the list. Gabriel Agbonlahor, with just three England caps to his name, will likely be thrilled to be named. Our newest Villan, Darren Bent, has obviously received a call. And Kyle Walker, aged just twenty, has earned his first call up to the senior squad (despite being called in for the U-21 game).
There are no real other surprises on the England side, unless you count Ben Foster's call, but really, who else do England have? They have to bring in the Birmingham City keeper. Capello also insists on calling in former Villan Gareth Barry, even though no one can remember the last time Barry played well. And, of course, Manchester City benchwarmer James Milner is also on the list. Wonder if he's regretting turning down the chance to play week in and week out? Maybe not, if he still gets the call.
