Barry Bannan Reminds Us All Not To Drink And Drive

Barry Bannan is the face of the West Midlands Police holiday don't drink and drive campaign. I can't decide if this is a terrible idea or an amazing one. On one hand, it seems like it could be yet another punishment by Aston Villa: the whole name 'em and shame 'em idea, the equivalent of pinning a scarlet DD on his chest and parading him around Birmingham. Yet on the other hand, it sort of makes sense to have someone that's been arrested on drink driving charges standing up and saying that he regrets what he's done, and encouraging others never to do the same.

What do you guys think? Is it better to have a role model, someone who hasn't screwed up, telling others to not be so stupid as to drink and drive? Or is it good to have someone who nearly lost everything, simply for the sake of not being arsed to call a cab?
